Logging actual timing while inducing knock over 3500 rpm showed no knock retard when i tested. Further how does the ecu use a single knock sensor allow triangulation of knock so you can identify a single cylinder ? Does the ecu retard timng per cylinder ? I doubt it. If it does not not why waste time figuring out which cylinder is knocking ? Why not globally retard timing.
I hope what you are saying is correct but for some reason i think the system is simpler than you think it is.
